One of the best ways to keep Sunbrella® fabrics looking good is to hose fabrics off on a monthly basis with clean water. This helps prevent dirt from becoming deeply embedded in the fabric and eliminates the need for more frequent vigorous cleaning. In most environments, a thorough cleaning will be needed every two to three years.

When it’s time for a thorough cleaning, Sunbrella fabrics can be cleaned while still on a boat or, size permitting, they can be removed for cleaning dock side.
To clean Sunbrella while still on a boat, follow these simple steps:
If stubborn spills persist, you can use a diluted bleach/soap mixture for spot cleaning of mildew. For roof run-off or other similar spills a strong degreaser may be required. See our Cleaning Guide for specifc recommendations: sunbrella.com/cleaningguide
Heavy Cleaning For Stubborn Spills And Mildew
Sunbrella fabrics do not promote mildew growth, however, mildew may grow on dirt and other foreign substances that are not removed from the fabric. To clean stubborn spills:
Note: Use caution when cleaning the coated (underside) of Sunbrella Plus, Supreme, or Clarity with the recommended bleach solution. The coated side of the fabric should only be sprayed with the recommended bleach solution and rinsed thoroughly.
Sunbrella fabrics are engineered to provide long-term performance. After repeated thorough cleanings, or years of use and exposure, you may choose to refresh your fabrics with an appropriate retreating agent. We recommend 303® Fabric Guard™, available in the United States, and Tex’Aktiv, available internationally.
You may have access to professional cleaning firms. In evaluating the services of a professional firm, you should inquire about a firm’s experience in working with Sunbrella fabrics and knowledge of cleaning and re-treatment requirements.
STAMOID
Care and Maintenance Guide
Completely waterproof, Stamoid is a vinyl coated woven polyester that can be used for exterior applications such as boat tops and protective covers. Easily cleanable, we recommend the following procedure for maintaining your Stamoid fabrics.
PRE-RINSE
Spread out the fabric on a flat surface, pre-rinse the fabric with clear water. Moisten the fabric with a mild solution of gentle liquid soap and clean water or use a proper cleaning agent such as 303® Vinyl Cleaner.
BRUSH WASH
Allow the cleaning solution to penetrate and gently brush the fabric to the edges using an ALL NATURAL SOFT BRISTLE brush. DO NOT use hard pressure during the brushing process as this may scratch or tear the vinyl.
RINSE
Thoroughly rinse the entire fabric surface to remove any traces of the cleaning solution. In some cases of heavily soiled fabric, the cleaning procedure may need to be repeated followed by a thorough rinse.
DRYING
The Stamoid® fabric should be hung up to completely dry.
POST PROTECTANT
When the fabric is completely dry, an application of vinyl protectant such as 303® High Tech Fabric GuardTM should be added to the surface.
Strataglass® VueShield™ is a highly engineered scratch resistant coating technology that prevents fine line scratches from normal use, washing, drying, rolling up and down and abrasion from roll-up straps. The coating also adds UV protection and protects from environmental fallout.
To properly clean and maintain your Strataglass products we recommend using Strataglass Protective Cleaner and Strataglass Protective Polish as described below. Both products are by IMAR and available through your Strataglass provider or favorite retail marine store. Use of non-authorized cleaners or protectants may damage the Strataglass and void the warranty.
ALWAYS use Strataglas Protective Cleaner to immediately remove harmful liquids, creams, chemicals or sprays that contact the Strataglass surface. It is important to store a bottle of Strataglass protective cleaner on the boat for spot cleaning.
Each time you use the boat, flush the curtains thoroughly with clear water to rinse away any salt or environmental abrasives. Air dry or use a high quality chamois or a microfiber towel.
Note to the new Strataglass Owner: New clear vinyl products are soft and easily impressionable. We recommend that new Strataglass enclosures panels should be in the installed position and fastened securely to the boat as much as possible. If the new curtains need to be removed and stacked, the enclosure panels should be carefully interleafed with a soft fabric such as a bed sheet. Clear vinyl will inherently strengthen over time and become less impressionable. When the boat is not in use, always close and fasten the Strataglass enclosure panels in place to prolong the life of your curtains and maintain clarity.
We recommend this procedure every 1-2 weeks. Spray the Strataglass Protective Cleaner directly on the inside and outside surfaces of the Strataglass or onto a soft cotton or micro fiber cloth. Gently wipe the Strataglass surface to clean. If necessary, buff dry with another dry clean cloth. Strataglass Protective Cleaner should always be on hand for emergency spot cleaning of any harmful liquids, creams, chemicals or sprays that may contact the Strataglass surface.
We recommend this procedure every 1-2 months. This is the most important maintenance procedure to extend the life of the curtains and maintain the warranty. Make sure the Strataglass product is clean and dry. Apply a light coat of Strataglass Protective Polish on both the inside and outside surfaces with small, light circular motions using a soft cotton cloth or applicator pad. Allow the polish to quickly dry. Lightly buff with a dry soft cotton or micro fiber cloth to a sparkling smooth shine. The Strataglass Protective Polish should be applied every 1-2 months, especially when the enclosure is new. Over time, with multiple applications, the polish will build up a strong protective barrier.

Care & Cleaning Instructions for EasislipTM
Calendered PVC is a complex composition of PVC (poly vinyl chloride) polymers engineered for external applications with standard weather conditions and UV exposure.
While the surface of the material can be exposed to both water and sunlight the natural characteristics of PVC will vent off plasticizer, ageing the product and affecting clarity over time.
While clarity can be maintained (to some degree) with a cleaning regime it is vitally important that all surfaces are not exposed to chemical compounds capable of damaging the PVC surface.
Neutral diluted detergents are the most effective proven method of removing stains and marks off the surface of the PVC without affecting the structure or make up of the material.
The recommended cleaning process is as follows:
1. Removeanyparticlesonthesurfaceofthematerialtoavoidscratcheswhenwipingwitha cleaning cloth.
2. Cleanwithasoftfabricclothusingadilutedwarmwaterbaseddetergentsolution1:10 (1 part detergent 10 parts water)
3. Rinsecompletelywithcleanwaterandwipedrywithasoftlintfreeclothorsponge
While proprietary cleaning agents are commercially available for clear PVC materials it is important to verify the performance of such with the suggested cleaning instructions included and recommended by the cleaning solution manufacturer.
Halifax Vogel Group take NO responsibility for the performance of any cleaning agent and any potential damaged caused to the surface of the material as a result of the use of such.
This applies to both clear and tint options available.
Fabric Care and Maintenance
Applies to the following Innova products:
Melana, Nevada, Seaking, Spa Master, Terrain, Tropica, Pacifica Std, Pacifica Textures (Hide, Weave, and Dimple), Supra, Supelle, Terranova, Terranova Neo, Terranova Synthetic Leather and all Medical grade products.
Instructions:
All PVC and PU Synthetic Leather fabrics require a degree of maintenance and care. A regular, minimum weekly cleaning regimen with appropriate products will prolong the life of the upholstery.
Innova recommends the following cleaning procedure:
• Remove any loose dirt or soiling with a suitable cloth (e.g. microfibre) or soft bristled brush and
lukewarm water.
• Apply a mild, lukewarm pH neutral soap solution with a sponge or soft bristled brush. • Allow the soap to stand briefly, but not to dry.
• Remove soap residue with microfibre cloth and clean water.
• Dry thoroughly with dry microfibre cloth.
Do not use abrasive cleaners, steel wool or cleaners containing solvents, gasoline, petroleum distillates, plasticisers or concentrated bleach. These have the potential to damage the fabric surface and void the guarantee.
Healthcare Applications:
For sanitisation in a healthcare application Innova recommends the following procedure:
• Remove any loose dirt or soiling with a soft bristled brush and/or lukewarm water.
• Apply a solution of 10% bleach and 90% water with a clean white cloth.
• Rub gently and rinse with water dampened cloth to remove bleach concentrate.
• Frequency of cleaning to be no greater than once a week.
Spot Cleaning
Treat spills and stains as soon as possible. Test on hidden area to ensure fabric and colour are not removed. Gently scrape any soil or mop any liquid from the surface of the fabric. Use of soap or detergent with water should be approached with caution since overzealous rinsing to remove soap residue may result in over-wetting, water marking
and possible wetting of substructure (this may create other stains or damage products).
1. For Non-Oil-Based Stains Use warm water and non- toilet soaps which do not contain optical brighteners (consider Velvet soap, Lux Flakes, Softly). Mix a small amount of soap and warm water solution and apply to the stain, rubbing gently. Blot dry with a clean towel. Apply cool water (preferably filtered or distilled water) and blot dry again.
Then with a hair dryer, working out from the centre of the stain, dry quickly to prevent rings forming. It is generally preferable to clean whole panels of fabric in this way rather than trying to spot clean specific areas.
2. For Oil-Based Stains Following the same basic guidelines as above, apply a proprietary brand solvent based cleaner and try to clean generally in panels rather than spot cleaning specific areas.
A First Aid Kit for Fabrics
To further enhance spot cleaning results, Warwick have introduced the Halo Fabric Care Kit which includes Halo spot cleaner for most household stains, Halo fabric deodoriser to help neutralise pet and general odours and Halo fabric protector to restore liquid repellency on fabric sections that have been spot cleaned.
*For treatment of specific stains, see the stain removal guide.
Professional Fabric Servicing
Warwick Fabrics recommend that water-based ‘Fluro chemical’ type fabric protectors (such as DuPont Teflon® and 3M Scotchgard®) be applied by licensed applicators only.
Check your care label first to see if a mill-applied protection was incorporated during fabric manufacture.
Fabric protectors do not eliminate the need for vacuuming, routine cleaning or proper care. They will, however, make spot cleaning and vacuuming quicker, easier and more efficient between professional cleans and keep your
fabric looking cleaner longer, as well as extending its life. Professionals applying fabric protectors must always pre- test to qualify fabric suitability.
Warning
Extreme caution should be taken if considering treatment
of velvets and pocket weaves with stain repellent products. Some high pile velvet and pocket weave jacquards may change in surface character if stain repellent treatments are incorrectly applied. Extra care should be taken to pre-test for these fabrics.
Professional cleaning frequency
Is determined by the furniture use, your own maintenance, upkeep and environmental conditions. As a good ‘rule of thumb’ overall cleaning is recommended every 12 months for most family room lounges.
Velvet curtain care
Curtaining velvet needs care in handling and use. Window fittings coming in contact with the curtain should be avoided. Stiff brushing or strong vacuum cleaning on the reverse
side of velvet can also pull at the pile. Draw cords or other methods of drawing without handling the curtain itself are recommended, as grasping, particularly with fingernails, can cause crushing and other damage. Velvet curtains should be dry cleaned.
